Australian home battery rebate
See your battery rebate in seconds.
The federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate is worth thousands — but it steps down every year. Enter your postcode for the current, source-verified value where you live.
The rebate is set by install date and steps down each year to 2030.
Estimated federal rebate
$3,640
≈ 91 certificates × $40 · $270/kWh
- 0-14kWh @ 100%
- 91.8 certs
Official value at the $40 clearing-house price; the open market often settles slightly lower, so installers may quote a little less. The battery must be installed with a solar PV system and meet program eligibility. This is a guide, not financial advice.
How the rebate works
01
Based on capacity
You earn certificates for each usable kWh of your battery, up to a 50 kWh cap. Bigger batteries earn proportionally less above 14 kWh.
02
It shrinks each year
The certificate rate steps down every year until the scheme ends in 2030 — installing sooner is worth materially more.
03
Paired with solar
The battery must be installed with a solar PV system. The rebate is applied at the point of sale by your installer.
